Dear ICS Family,
The information in this exciting announcement is also in my weekly newsletter.
A Special Announcement from the Bishop
Our secretary of schools, Mrs. Ellen Ayoub, recently announced to all schools in the Diocese that Bishop Checchio is extremely proud and grateful for how each school community (students, families, educators) continue to collaborate on how to best present a well-rounded school experience for our students during this pandemic. Please read part of her e-mail:
"This year, despite all the challenges that you have had, our schools have been able to keep our students safe and in school. In recognition of the extraordinary efforts of all, Bishop would like to grant a Bishop's Holiday to each school once a month beginning in January. The day should be a day off for everyone -- no homework assigned or Zoom meetings scheduled. This should help everyone to refresh and return ready to their students."
Please note ICS will be off every last Friday of the month January-May. Once we establish the last day of school year in June, we will use the Bishop's Holiday and shorten the end of year by a day.
A Change in Our School Day is Coming!
We begin our full school day schedule (7:50 AM-2:50 PM) on Monday, January 25! The current marking period (2nd marking period) ends Friday, January 22. Third marking period begins the following Monday, January 25. Some of our students' Specials classes will also change at the start of the new marking period. It will be a natural time to make these changes altogether.
Lunch will be in the classrooms. Your child will have the opportunity to buy a school lunch offered by our cafeteria staff. School bought lunch will be delivered to your child by the cafeteria staff. Detailed lunch information will be shared in the new year.
If you would like your virtual learner to return to in-person instruction at the start of the 3rd marking period, please let your child's teacher know.
